Add things you would like to do, but "don't have time for", such as study for an exam, exercise, work on a project or spend time with family and friends. Add sites you know you waste time on, such as social media, blogs and news. Add your webmail service, if you want.
Web the F*** adds effort to mindless browsing and excessive email checking by covering the offending site with an overlay that needs to be erased to view the site underneath.
Find yourself just erasing that overlay? Add a list of email addresses and Web the F*** contacts everyone on that list if you're wasting time on pointless sites.
This extension was essential for me to pass a very important exam I took few weeks ago. I studied a lot, love studying, but there's no denying that the internet is a sea of distractions. As I was studying on my laptop, every now and then I'd end up going onto a website to "distract myself" and I'd soon get a message on the screen reminding me that I should be studying instead of wasting my time on websites that only take my focus away. I got the message and went back to my studies. In fact, I passed this exam and I'm still using the extension for other projects and, of course, to continue studying for even higher flights in other exams that I'm aiming for. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a good helping hand to stay focused, disciplined and consistent in their studies/activities in general!
It's hard to control our habit of looking at nonsense on the internet, lol. I've stopped doing a lot of things, especially being with family and friends, because of hours spent scrolling through social media and visiting websites for the simple habit and ease of just "looking" and thinking I'm informing myself about the world. It's a great, fun extension for anyone who wants to break out of this vicious cycle of spending time doing useless things.
It's scary to see how we spend so much time surfing the Internet without realizing that we're just throwing our time away. I use this extension especially when I'm working. No more "my time is short" excuses, boy.
THANK YOU FOR CREATING THIS! Now I can stop sabotaging myself, lol! I live alone, go to college and work. It's hard to reconcile everything and there's nothing better than a detox of everything that gets in my way by using the internet non-stop. And the browser extension name? Spot on!
How could anyone not have thought of doing something simple like this before to help the internet-addicted class, haha! Better than my mom or dad lecturing me to study!
